“FAQlove 3D” – Optical Tape Art Portrait
Three-dimensional portrait of a woman I created especially for “Tape Art Convention 2016”. 5 layers of transparent glass and just green package tape on it
Work made from transparent packing tape: images built up in layers that only come alive in light.
Packing tape is layered rather than mixed. Each additional layer darkens the surface slightly, which builds tonal range without any paint. Because the material stays translucent, the image changes with the light behind it — on glass, windows and back-lit panels that is the whole point.
The opaque counterpart is duct tape art. Technical questions are covered in the tape art FAQ, and client projects appear under commissioned art.
