Who we are

A Berlin collective, since 2015.

SELFMADECREW was founded in 2015 by Slava Osinski, himself a tape art and street art artist. Six artists work in the collective today — experienced makers alongside newer talent.

We have collaborated with the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, with Urban Nation — the Berlin museum for urban art — and with the Goethe-Institut.

What we do

Mostly tape. Often spray paint.

Most of our projects are tape art. We are just as glad to take on graffiti and street art commissions, paint live in front of an audience and pass on the craft in workshops.

Tape art

Pictures made from duct tape and packing tape on walls, glass and floors. They come off without residue, which makes them work on rented space and temporary builds.

Graffiti & street art

Lettering, characters and large-scale motifs with the can, indoors and out — permanent and weatherproof.

Live painting

We work in front of an audience at trade fairs, company and cultural events. The making is the programme, and a finished piece stays behind.

Workshops

Tape art and graffiti workshops for young people and adults, also as team building for companies.

From an embassy facade to a festival bar.

Our commissions range from a vault at the German Federal Bank in Berlin to the facade of the German Embassy in Kyiv. Here is a selection we have documented in full — each card opens the project write-up.
